Women’s Beginner Triathlon Course

About the Course

Proudly supported by the Sunshine Coast Council’s Grants Program, our Women’s Beginner Triathlon Course caters for females of all ages, backgrounds and fitness abilities who have little or no experience in triathlon. Coached by Greg McDermott, the eight-week course provides women with the skills to compete in triathlon or just to improve their fitness while having fun and making new friends. The course will build your fitness and confidence over the eight weeks, culminating in entry to the Short Course at Race 4 of the Bribie Triathlon Series on March 24th, 2019. All sessions are provided in a safe and fun training environment.

  • Eight week training program, provided through a complimentary two month Premium TrainingPeaks account

  • Three 60-90 minute sessions per week (1 coached, 2 club led)

  • Pool entry at weekly coached sessions

  • Entry to Short Course Race 4 of the Bribie Triathlon Series, with race day Club support

  • Triathlon Queensland training insurance for 8 weeks (racing excluded)

  • Bicycle maintenance presentation night, provided by Caloundra Bicycle Centre

  • Nutrition Seminar, presented by professional triathlete and elite cyclist Annelise Jefferies.

*Excludes personal triathlon gear (i.e. bike, helmet, shoes, goggles etc),

Session A

  • Wednesdays 5:30-7pm at Caloundra Aquatic Centre

  • Swim, bike, run technical session

  • Taken by endurance coach

Session B

  • Fridays 6-7am at Caloundra Bicycle Centre

  • Local group ride

  • Taken by Caloundra Triathlon Club

Session C

  • Saturdays 4-5pm at Fraser Park, Golden Beach

  • Group open water swim and run session

  • Taken by Caloundra Triathlon Club

About the Coach

Technical sessions will be coached by full time endurance coach Greg McDermott. Greg is an accredited Triathlon Australia Coach and Level 2 TrainingPeaks Coach who has an impressive resume of endurance sporting achievements:

  • Cycled solo around Australia (14,500KMS)

  • Ultraman Australia Finisher

  • Multiple Ironman Finisher

  • 70.3 World Championship Finisher

Greg inspires through action and has an uncanny ability to get the best out of people, be it first timers to experienced athletes.
